Cabin Fever Blues Bash

Homemade Jamz Blues Band

Blues Bash 2015A certified hit at Blues Fest 2014, Homemade Jamz Blues Band (HJBB) may just be the youngest national touring blues band with the most established performing histories. A trio of siblings, whose guitarists play cool-looking and great-sounding homemade guitars fashioned from car mufflers, HJBB are Ryan Perry (23, guitar), Kyle Perry (20, bass) and sister Taya Perry (15, drums). Hailing from Tupelo, MS - the birthplace of “The King” Elvis Presley – the group owes its origins to the day Ryan spied Dad (Renaud Perry) unpacking his Stratocaster guitar in Baumholder, Germany where he was stationed with U.S. forces. It was love at first sight for 7-year-old Ryan, and within a week he was picking out notes and even playing along to TV commercials. Inspired by sounds from his Dad’s B.B. and Albert King records, by the age of 8 Ryan was gigging at Tupelo house parties as a solo, when brother Kyle, after seeing a video of Willie Dixon, also caught the blues bug and settled into learning bass. The brothers had their famous first gig at Clarksdale’s Ground Zero club (co-owned by actor Morgan Freeman) accompanied by a house drummer. Soon, though, sister Taya – who was only age seven (7) by this time- wanted in on the act, and a family band was born! The trio’s rise has been meteoric since then, including stops on The Today Show, and later placing 2nd (out of 157 acts) in the 2007 International Blues Challenge. Now the band is touring in support of their 4th CD, Mississippi Hill Country, and a self-released tribute to the rural style of blues of the same name. Written with lyrical help from Dad, even a quick listen shows that HJBB has maybe found its true lode-star - a style of blues that seem to fit it like a hand in a glove. We are confident that Ryan, Kyle and Taya Perry will show you the intense power of a loving family blues connection.

The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical

Berenstein BearsStan and Jan Berenstain originally published The Berenstain Bears in 1974 and have gone on to publish over 300 books, create three animated television series, an upcoming feature-length movie, and now a brand new musical! Approved by the authors themselves, The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical is an adaptation of three of The Berenstain Bears’ most beloved books: The Berenstain Bears Learn About Strangers, The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food, and The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble at School.

Appropriate for Mamas, Papas, and Young Cubs of all ages, in this live musical production filled with fun songs and dancing, the Berenstain Bears learn important life lessons. Brother gets a bad grade on a test at school. At first, he tries to hide his troubles but soon realizes opening up to his family is the best way to help solve his problems. Sister gets a little carried away as she starts saying "Hello" to everyone she meets at the Village Green. Finally, when Doc Grizzly points out that the Berenstain Bears are eating way too much junk food, it is a tough pill to swallow, especially for Papa, who rips his overalls (exposing his red polka dot underwear!) trying to show off how fit he is. Everyone's secret is revealed when Mama finds Brother's test, Papa's junk food wrappers, and Sister's new friend, Mr. Frog, who she snuck into the house from the Village Green. Using the iconic stories and imagery of the books, you and your family will see Bear Country come to life on stage while learning about the importance of honesty, health, and safety. In the end, it becomes clear to each of the Berenstain Bears that what truly matters is family.
